Amanda has always been a huge animal lover and advocate for sustainability for our planet. Years ago, she discovered an organization that she believes in and thought Locks & Lashes could help contribute.
WANDS FOR WILDLIFE Inspires people to help wildlife and the environment through re-purposing discarded mascara wands for use in wildlife care, art and education.
Due to the large inventory they receive, Wands for Wildlife only accepts wand donations a few times per year. L&L will be collecting ongoing donations of used mascara wands and spoolies to save and donate to this organization when they are ready to accept more. All we need from you is your old mascara tubes! We will do the rest - properly cleaning and packaging for shipping. Contact us for details if you are interested in contributing this amazing cause!
For more detailed information about this organization or to make a monetary donation, you can visit Wands For Wildlife website directly!
MATTER OF TRUST "HAIR MATTERS" Program produces felted recycled fiber mats from donations of hair clippings/extensions, pet hair, and fleece. Hair has been proven to be both an effective and sustainable way to soak up major oil spills and help keep storm drains and waterways clean. The repurposed hair mats also help with soil erosion and protect natural habitats.
Locks & Lashes is available to collect old hair extensions and wefts that would otherwise make it to the trash can. Contact us to get further details if you are interested in making a donation!

There are many RMHC across the nation, and even across the globe. However the Philadelphia location holds a special place in Amanda's heart. While pregnant with her son Jaxon, he was diagnosed with complex congenital heart defects which required intense monitoring and multiple planned open heart surgeries. He was born at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and underwent his first open heart surgery at 2 days old. Amanda and her husband were lucky enough to have boarded at the RMH during this time, and ultimately stayed for almost 8 weeks before Jaxon was discharged to come home. Since then, there have been many more visits to CHOP and stays at RMH, all of which help tremendously in these times of stress.
The Ronald McDonald House provides accommodations, meals, shuttle service and many other amenities to families of medically fragile children, for little to no cost to them, lightening the financial burden that comes with long hospital stays. They accept donations all year round of every kind (in new condition), as well as monetary donations. Another fun way to help contribute - simply as saving the pop tabs on your cans and send to a RMH near you!
